Lisa Marie Presley Honored At Graceland Memorial

At Lisa Marie Presley’s memorial service at Graceland on Sunday (January 22nd), Axl Rose, Billy Corgan, and Alanis Morissette performed. She passed away on January 12th at the age of 54.

Rose shared some heartfelt words at the memorial for his close friend, Lisa Marie. He said she was a beautiful and good soul and spoke lovingly of how much she cared for her family and admired her father’s work and impact. Noting how proud she was of him, Rose paid tribute to her with a solo rendition of “November Rain” on piano.

As part of the performance portion, Billy Corgan performed the Smashing Pumpkins’ acoustic ballad “To Sheila” from 1998’s Adore. In addition to singing “Rest,” Alanis Morrisette also premiered it at Chester Bennington’s memorial service in 2017 and released it for Mental Health Action Day in 2021. Below is footage of the service.

The memorial performances by Axl Rose, Billy Corgan, and Alanis Morissette were paired with tributes from Presley’s mother, Priscilla, who read a poem written by her granddaughter, Elvis business associate Jerry Schilling, and Ben Smith-Petersen, who spoke on behalf of his wife, Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough.

At Graceland, Presley will be buried next to her late son, Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020.
