Shocking! Ozzy Osbourne Announces Tour Retirement!

Shocking! Ozzy Osbourne Announces Tour Retirement!

Ozzy Osbourne has been a cultural icon in the music industry for over five decades. From his time in Black Sabbath, to his solo career and his part on MTV’s 2002 hit reality show “The Osbourne’s”, he has earned not only a die-hard loyal fanbase, but also respect from the music world from all different types of genres. So it was shocking news today when Ozzy announced that he was canceling all of his upcoming 2023 UK/European concerts due to physical limitations. He said that this meant an end to touring for him as well. It saddened many of us, who have admired Ozzy’s work throughout the years, to hear this news. Though disheartening, it is understandable given both Ozzy’s age and the rigors of life on tour.

In a newly released twitter statement 74-year-old rock ‘n’ roll legend stated he “had a major accident four years ago in which he damaged his spine and that he can no longer cope with the travel required for a tour.”

“My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage,” Ozzy posted. “My singingvoice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.”

Shocking! Ozzy Osbourne Announces Tour Retirement! 2

“This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans. As you may all know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine. My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage. My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.

I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required. Believe me when I say that the thought of disappointing my fans really FUCKS ME UP, more than you will ever know.

Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way. My team is currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.

I want to thank my family……my band…….my crew……my longtime friends, Judas Priest, and of course, my fans for their endless dedication, loyalty, and support, and for giving me the life that I never ever dreamed I would have.

I love you all…”

CARCASS Mini History Lesson

The European death metal scene received a jolt of energy with the 2013 announcement that goregrind melodic death metal pioneers Carcass were reuniting after an 17-year hiatus. The band, which helped define and expand the extreme metal genre in the 1980s and early 1990s was welcome back with great heavy metal joy!

CARCASS was formed in 1985 and quickly gained notoriety for their extreme sound and aggressive lyrics. Their classic albums ‘Symphonies of Sickness’ (1989) and ‘Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious’ (1991) established them as innovators in the death metal world, while subsequent releases pushed their sound even further into progressive metal territories. After going on indefinite hiatus in 1996, metal fans far and wide could only dream and hope that CARCASS would reunite to take over the underworld of heavy metal again. And their heavy metal prayers were answered when CARCASS unleashed the acclaimed 2013 comeback record “Surgical Steel! Their latest LP “Torn Arteries” proved to the heavy metal masses that the groundbreaking extreme music of CARCASS will never die!

Avatar Gets Ready For Ferocious "Dance Devil Dance" Tour! 7

Also! On Friday, February 17, AVATAR will unleash their highly anticipated ninth album, entitled ‘Dance Devil Dance’ through the independent label Thirty Tigers. This upcoming record was created in a remote location deep within the Swedish wilderness, where the band could escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and focus on creating something truly unique. By taking themselves away from civilization, they were able to tap into an entirely new creative process that was driven by their natural surroundings. Listening to AVATAR’s latest duet with Lzzy Hale via the “Violence No Matter” single from this upcoming record, it is clear that there is something special about this soundscape – it has a raw energy that could only be channeled through such an intimate setting.

Jay Ruston has returned to work with AVATAR again and it is causing quite a positive stir among the heavier side of music. Having already worked with some of the biggest names in metal/hard rock, (including Anthrax, Mr. Bungle, Crobot, Steel Panther, Pop Evil, and even Amon Amarth) he is bringing his own brand of production style to Avatar’s ‘Dance Devil Dance’. As his previous work showcases his ability to capture the essence of each artist he works with while still giving them their own unique sound that stands out from other albums in their genre.

Not only does Jay deliver on expectations for the artists he works with but also adds a layer of creativity and innovation that sets him apart from others in his field. His mix of classic metal elements with modern production techniques has created an unmistakable sonic tapestry that results in music that sounds both timeless and fresh.

The members of AVATAR have expressed they are immensely proud of what they were able to create while out in the middle of nowhere via Sweden’s country side. Especially their frontman!

“Honestly, I feel like we have to save heavy metal,” AVATAR frontman Johannes Eckerström stated to TotalRockBecause either people are lost in the past… They did it better than we will ever do what they do. Don’t do that. What’s next? What’s next for us? And do that without disappearing up your own asses completely.

When people end up doing metal that is best enjoyed while sitting down and shutting up, you miss the point,” Johannes continued. “Metal is the music that you move to — in the pit, banging your head, dancing around, whatever, lifting weights, drinking too much, getting pregnant, impregnating someone, doing things. It’s music to move with. You have drums in the band; why would you have drums if you don’t move?

“We look a lot to the masters — that is wisdom from MOTÖRHEAD, from JUDAS PRIEST, from a lot of things — but then just… yeah, that, but not that. They did that. We’re now and what’s next with that. Where can we try to help bring it? And that is this album.”

Say it ain’t so! Panic! At The Disco Are Finished?!

We here at Noise from the Pit are in utter disbelief that the Las Vegas, Nevada pop-punk sensation Panic! At The Disco have suddenly decided to break up. Yes. Sadly, after nearly twenty years of creating infectious rock classics, Panic! At The Disco are no more. Frontman Brendon Urie, made the shocking announcement of the band ending across Social Media, earlier today around the morning hours.

“Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way,” Urie typed out in a statement posted on Instagram. “But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin.”

Mr. Urie followed up by stating that Panic! At The Disco “will be no more” after the band finish touring for their upcoming “Viva Las Vengeance” February/March 2023 European/UK tour. And mentioned that the forthcoming birth of his first child as one of the reasons for the band deciding to call it quits. You can read the full statement in regards to Panic! At The Disco breaking-up, right below.

“Well, it’s been a hell of a journey…
Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way.

But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon! The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure.

That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more.

Thank you all for your immense support over the years. I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Europe and the UK for one last run together.

I love you. I appreciate you. Thank you for existing.”

-Brendon

A Brief History of Panic! At The Disco Over The Years

Panic! At the Disco (formed in 2004) emerged from the emo movement of the mid-2000s, but their influence has only grown as time goes on. Pantera Lamb Of God Tour 20230120052154 Noise From The Pit
Pantera Announce North American Headlining Tour W/ Lamb Of God! 14

In the early to mid-1990’s, Pantera emerged as the preeminent metal band of the era. Their aggressive and distinct sound made them a force to be reckoned with in heavy metal music. They had an enormous impact on their fans, an audience that was thirsty for something new and exciting. With their blend of thrash and groove metal, they almost single-handedly demolished any remnants of ’80s hair metal bands that still lingered in the scene at that time. Fans were drawn to their raw sound and energetic performances which solidified their place as one of the most popular bands from this era. Through their innovation and hard work, Pantera became the face of heavy metal: loud, uncompromising, and unapologetic about it. With solid releases such as “Cowboys From Hell”, “Vulgar Display of Power”, “Far Beyond Driven”, “The Great Southern Trendkill”, and “Reinventing The Steel”, Pantera proved to the heavy metal world their music would forever influence the heavier side of music for decades upon decades!
