New Order will launch a new Manchester multi-venue music festival and conference, Beyond The Music, next month with a show at the South By Southwest Music Festival (SXSW). The festival is set to take place across multiple venues in Manchester in October and is described as a “co-operative,” with an integrated decision-making structure to create actions and exist as more than just a talking shop.
New Order to Perform at SXSW Launch Show
New Order’s launch show at SXSW will take place on March 13th at the Moody Theatre and will feature appearances from The Orielles and Loose Articles. Beyond The Music founder, Oli Wilson, said that New Order embodies the spirit of Manchester and shares the same commitment to innovation as Beyond The Music. What Is Bamboozle Festival?

The SXSW Film Festival has announced its first wave of films and headliners, and it’s an impressive lineup. The festival will occur from March 10-19 in Austin, Texas. A Dungeons & Dragons adaption directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will open the festival. Among the notable titles are Evil Dead Rise, the new entry in Sam Raimi’s horror franchise, Problemista, Julio Torres’s directorial debut starring himself and Tilda Swinton; and Flamin’ Hot, Eva Longoria’s documentary on Frito-Lay’s origins. This year’s SXSW Film Festival is sure to be one of the most exciting yet, with plenty of major and rising names, leaving something for everyone. Previously, Pantera was announced as headlining Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin in 2023.
Pantera will headline this year’s Rock Fest on Thursday, July 13th, with Slipknot and Godsmack headlining on Friday, July 14th, and Saturday, July 15th, respectively. Tickets can be purchased through the festival’s website or StubHub.
The event will actually take place over four days, starting with a “Wednesday Night Bonus Bash” on July 12th, featuring Soul Asylum, Alien Ant Farm, Gemini Syndrome, Tallah, The Lonely Ones, No Resolve, Moon Fever and Widow7. It is only available to Rock Fest 2023 ticket holders who have purchased three days.
The main festival will begin on Thursday (July 13th). As well as Pantera, Ice Cube, In This Moment, The Ghost Inside, Jinjer, Orianthi, Suicide Silence, Vended, Fame on Fire, Eva Under Fire, Ghosts of the Mississippi, Sin7, Scattered Hamlet and more will perform that night.
The Friday (July 14th) bill will also include Falling in Reverse, Ice Nine Kills, Asking Alexandria, Wage War, Mushroomhead, Cherry Bombs, Crobot, Gideon, Saul, and more.
In addition to Godsmack, Papa Roach, Highly Suspect, Everclear, GWAR, Dorothy, 10 Years, New Years Day, Plush, Dayseeker, Silvertung and more will perform on Saturday (July 15th).
According to Rock Fest promoter Wade Asher, the festival strives to be better every year. The festival will feature 20 national acts for the first time. We’re always working to improve fan experiences in new ways in the offseason, including both new and improved infrastructure for 2023. And it isn’t easy when we’ve been doing this for 29 years. I can’t wait to do it all over again.

In addition to Rock Fest, Pantera just announced a lengthy North American tour with special guests Lamb of God. They’re also opening for Metallica in 2023 and 2024.

Jamey Jasta has just announced some fantastic news – Milwaukee Metalfest is returning in 2023 and will be held over Memorial Day Weekend, making it the perfect way to kick off the summer! Jasta, frontman of legendary hardcore/metal band Hatebreed, said he’s been looking forward to this day since starting the festival in 1990. So whether you’re already a fan of Jasta or crave a weekend full of metal, Milwaukee Metalfest is sure to please – no matter what your favorite style or subgenre of metal might be. “Milwaukee Metal Fest has been a labor of love for me,” added Koshick. “I started working on it when I was 29; I am now 66. I want to thank all those living and dead for making this dream come true. Most of all, I want to thank the bands, fans, and crews that made this happen. The time has come to move on. I feel Jamey Jasta and his partners will do a fine job representing the brand. Until we meet again, I love you all.”
Jamey Jasta is honored to be taking over the torch from Jack Koshick, who has been a visionary leader of Milwaukee Metalfest for nearly four decades. Jasta noted that many people have fond memories of the festival, and it was time for it to return. For Jasta personally, he had spoken on a podcast with late Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad about possibly resurrecting it and curating it together, so this felt like a vital mission following Strnad’s death. Koshick had nothing but love for those that made his dream come true and were integral in making the festival what it is today. With Jasta’s support and Koshick’s blessing, Jasta aims to bring Milwaukee Metalfest back bigger than ever in 2023.
“I am so grateful and thrilled that [Milwaukee Metalfest founder] Jack Koshick has passed the Milwaukee Metalfest torch off to me,” Jasta said at the time. “He is a visionary, and we will carry on the MMF legacy for years to come. So many of us have great memories from Milwaukee Metalfest, and the time is right for it to return.”
