After 40 years, Industrial Legends Skinny Puppy Announce Spring 2023 Farewell Tour!

Skinny Puppy (formed in 1982) is among the most influential industrial music acts to emerge in the 1980’s. Drawing from the pioneering work of bands like Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, and Suicide, they formed a dark avant-industrial sound that has inspired countless other musicians to this day. Especially Nine Inch Nails and Combichrist! Blending metal guitars, drum machines, sampling techniques, and various synthesized sounds into their unique musical palette, Skinny Puppy created an atmosphere of alienation and horror within their songs that evoked a feeling of postmodern dread. Their albums tackled themes such as animal testing, nuclear war, addiction and abuse — topics still relevant today — which made them one of the first politically minded industrial groups.

And now the Industrial music legends Skinny Puppy are celebrating their 40th anniversary a little late, with a final tour this spring dubbed “Skinny Puppy: When Nothing Is True…Anything Is Possible: Final Tour.” As one of the original groups in the industrial genre, Skinny Puppy’s influence on modern music and culture is undeniable. From heavy electronics to dark experimental soundscapes, the band has pioneered trends that have influenced generations of musicians. While the band initially made its mark in the 1980s, their presence can still be felt throughout contemporary electronic music today.

The impending tour celebrates not only four decades since their formation but also marks an end to one of industrial music’s greatest legacies. Onstage, Skinny Puppy will bring together all eras of their catalog, from classic hits like “Worlock” and “Dig It” to more recent works such as 2013’s comeback LP ‘Weapon’! Lead Into Gold will be direct opening support.

It’s been eight long years since we’ve toured and there is no better way to end our run as a group than with a tour celebrating our 40th anniversary,” Skinny Puppy expressed across social media in a joint statement. To our west coast fans, don’t worry! We’ll see you soon!”

Skinny Puppy’s farewell tour will be produced by Live Nation,. And looks to be starting out on April 6th at Aztec Theater in San Antonio, Texas. Then making stops around the U.S. in Atlanta, New Orleans, New York, Minneapolis and more before fully concluding in Seattle at Neptune on May 9th. Skinny Puppy will also be rocking faces off at the “Sick New World” festival in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 13th.

Public ticket sales for Skinny Puppy’s farewell tour will begin on Friday, February 10th, at 10 a.m. local on Ticketmaster.com. Peep all the scheduled dates below!
