Mushroomhead bassist Ryan Farrell spent the early days of the pandemic getting his Master of Music in composition from Cleveland State University.

In the video below, Farrell said, “I’m a huge advocate for education – I mean, obviously, since I’m going back to school, too.” You don’t have to be just some dude with a guitar in a band to listen to Slayer and Mozart. It’s all music, but you don’t have to be a guitar player. It’s okay to listen to Slayer and Mozart. Regardless of your interests, taking it to the next level is essential.

“It is important for me to advocate for education right now, and I hope to be a role model for people who think, “Oh man, it’s never too late.” I could get a degree in something I’ve always wanted to, or I’m doing that one thing. You can do both of them. No matter what you do in life, do it to the fullest, with passion and without limits.”
