Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy is reissuing their first two albums ‘Black Earth’ from 1996 and ‘Stigmata’ from 1998 in both vinyl and CD formats. It has been over two decades since these two classic albums were released, and this marks the first time they will be available in physical format in years.

These albums represent a significant part of the band’s history and legacy, as they featured vocalist Johan Liiva before he left the band in 2000. Many fans consider “Black Earth” to be one of the most influential metal albums ever made, with songs like “Bury Me an Angel” still being sung by fans at live shows today. “When I first got Arch Enemy together in 1995 and we recorded the first album Black Earth during 9 hectic days at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, I obviously never imagined the impact and trajectory that this band would have,” says Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott of the reissues. “All these years later I’m still very proud and happy with our first record and the follow-up Stigmata. Arch Enemy’s debut album “Black Earth” remains one of the most impressive and acclaimed metal albums in history, and for good reason.
