I am a music enthusiast with a deep love for the energy of crowded venues, loud music, & passionate fans. I have a diverse background that includes private security, talent buying, festival security planning, & media relations. I've also worked as a camera operator for various projects, including music videos featuring notable artists like Bernz, Tech N9ne, & Krizz Kaliko. Additionally, I am a camera operator for Full Moon Features, where I contribute to the production of horror movies.

The Batman Universe will continue to expand onto the TV screen with The Penguin series, starring Colin Farrell as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot, aka the Penguin. In a new interview, Colin Farrell teased how Penguin will widely expand the world of The Batman – but he also followed up on some earlier teases by confirming when this Penguin TV series will begin production – and how long it will last.

Variety reports Colin Farrell will begin shooting The Penguin in February, which will take around five or six months to complete. That would put the wrap date around summer 2023.

HBO Max to Premiere Colin Farrell ‘s The Penguin TV Series?

Fans of The Batman have been following along and wondering what’s happening with Matt Reeves’ TV universe expansion. This production timeline is vital, especially in the HBO Max timeline.

Colin Farrell has made it clear that The Penguin will be in production from February through summer, so the question is whether post-production will see it released sooner or later. Looking at HBO Max’s lineup for 2023, their big returning series (Barry, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Gilded Age, Hacks, Harley Quinn, Our Flag Means Death, Perry Mason, The Righteous Gemstones, Titans, Succession, and True Detective) and new shows (The Last of Us, Velma, Love & Death The Idol and White House Plumbers), there appears to be no urgency to rush out The Penguin this year; it could end up being a premium piece of content in 2024.

Suppose Warner Bros Discovery and its new DC Studios imprint are keen to launch a new direction. In that case, 2024 may be the ideal release date window. 2023 will undoubtedly bring many changes, with The Flash potentially shaking up the entire franchise’s continuity, Aquaman 2 marking the end of Jason Momoa‘s tenure as that character, and Blue Beetle being the first new addition backed by DC Studios. There is no telling what Shazam 2 might mean within the more expansive DCU universe. In conjunction with Peter Safran, James Gunn has to put together a decade-long plan for future projects.

A sequel to The Joker: Folie A Deux is already in the works for 2024, so more Batman content wouldn’t be a bad idea…

Production of the Penguin will begin in February.
