I am a music enthusiast with a deep love for the energy of crowded venues, loud music, & passionate fans. I have a diverse background that includes private security, talent buying, festival security planning, & media relations. I've also worked as a camera operator for various projects, including music videos featuring notable artists like Bernz, Tech N9ne, & Krizz Kaliko. Additionally, I am a camera operator for Full Moon Features, where I contribute to the production of horror movies.

The live-action movie based on the video game Death Stranding has officially been announced. First released back in 2019, Death Stranding was creator Hideo Kojima’s first major project following his many years of working on the Metal Gear Solid franchise with Konami. And while Kojima only just announced last week that a sequel to Death Stranding would be coming to PlayStation 5 in the future, a movie tied to the franchise is also now happening.

Coming by way of Deadline, the first details about the Death Stranding movie were announced. The film will be produced by Hammerstone Studios, with Barbarian executive producer Alex Lebovici serving as producer. Kojima Productions and Allan Ungar will also serve as executive producers on the project. There’s not a writer or director yet for the film, but there’s been confirmed that it is “now on the fast track.”

The film’s plot sounds a little different from what we’ve seen in the game. Rather than following the same narrative, new elements and characters are being added so that the world can be fleshed out. With this in mind, it doesn’t look likely that the film will star Mads Mikkelsen or Lea Seydoux – which means that many of our favorite Death Stranding actors might not return for it either.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios,” Hideo Kojima, who’s most well-known as the creator of the Metal Gear Solid series, said. “This is a pivotal moment for my franchise and work, and I’m really looking forward to collaborating with them in bringing Death Stranding to the big screen.”

“We are thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to partner with brilliant and iconic Hideo Kojima on his first film adaptation,” Lebovici also said. “Unlike other big-budget tentpole video game adaptations, this will be something far more intimate and grounded. Our goal is to redefine what a video game adaptation could be when you have creative and artistic freedom. This film will be an authentic ‘Hideo Kojima’ production.”

Can you believe it? Death Stranding is the next major video game to get a movie adaptation. What are you looking forward to seeing from this film whenever it does come out? For nostalgia sake here is the original trailer for the video game

The Back Story For The Game

Death Stranding is a 2019 action game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It was the first game from director Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions after their split with Konami in 2015. A Microsoft Windows port licensed by Sony was released by 505 Games in July 2020 and it was followed by a release for the PlayStation 5 in September 2021, along with a release for Windows in March 2022.

The game is set in Louisiana following a catastrophic event that caused destructive monsters to roam the world, and players control Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus), a courier tasked with delivering supplies to remote colonies and reconnecting them via wireless communication networks. The story features actors Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Margaret Qualley, Troy Baker, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Lindsay Wagner in addition to film directors Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn as supporting characters.
