Captivating Industrial Metal: 3Teeth’s “Merchant of the Void” 3Teeth, the formidable industrial metal band, has just released their electrifying new single, “Merchant of the Void.” This powerful track is a precursor to their highly anticipated yet-to-be-titled fourth studio album, which will be launched later this year via Century Media.

Touring with Titans: Tool and Rammstein

Having shared the stage with renowned bands such as Tool and Rammstein, 3Teeth has honed their signature sound, which is evident in “Merchant of the Void.” The single masterfully fuses heavy metallic elements with pulsating synths and deep electronic beats, channeling the essence of influential bands like Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails.

Exploring Humanity’s Self-Destruction and Materialism

Frontman and creative mastermind Alexis Mincolla reveals that the fiery track critiques humanity’s self-destructive trajectory and fixation on materialism. In a press statement, Mincolla explains, “The insatiable appetite of data commodification devours our sense of meaning. The undead march of materialism eventually renders the human subject an automaton, desperately grasping for the ephemeral junk 2.0 to fill the abyss of existential emptiness.”

The Merchant of the Void and the Abyss of Commodification

Drawing on William S. Burroughs’ insights, Mincolla asserts that “The Merchant of the Void” symbolizes the ultimate commodification of human existence. He quotes Burroughs, saying, “The junk merchant doesn’t sell his product to the consumer, he sells the consumer to his product. He does not improve and simplify his merchandise. He degrades and simplifies the client.”

Exciting Collaborations and Album Anticipation

Following their 2021 collaboration with Ho99o9, “Paralyze,” both tracks will be featured on 3Teeth’s upcoming album. More details about the album release are expected to be announced shortly. Notably, the band collaborated with sound designer Mick Gordon, known for his work on the DOOM franchise, on this forthcoming project.

Unleashing a World Unto Itself,

Gordon admires 3Teeth: “They proudly fly their unique flag. The new album charts course through the next stage of our vanity-led evolution as a species, and by that, I mean the album is a world unto itself. I’m stoked that these guys have allowed me along for the ride.”
