Rolling Stone Debuts Fierce “Powerhouse”
Single ft. Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith
Thunderpussy Milk It EP Out Today!
Hometown New Year’s Eve Show Announced
“Thunderpussy is everything you want in rock – raw, spontaneous, bombastic, outrageous – and they’ve got the look, songs, musicianship and dynamic live show to take your breath away.” – NPR Music
“Classic-rock muscle with soulful vocals and punk energy” – Rolling Stone
“Thunderpussy’s songs make a beeline for your lizard brain and then impel you to bang the container in which said lizard brain sits. In this regard, they resemble the lubricious ruggedness of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin at their raunchiest, and The Runaways.” – The Stranger
“Rock & roll may be a man’s world, but Thunderpussy is here to
storm the gates.” – Ones to Watch
Rock ‘n’ roll’s new diamond in the muff Thunderpussy just released their loud & proud Milk It EP into the world today. Rolling Stone debuted fierce single “Powerhouse,” featuring the drumming talents of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith. Following previous EP track “Never Know,” lead singer Molly Sides explains this song about her mother: “It is an ode, an anthem to those who have been dealt a difficult hand in life but continue to persevere and push through. It’s a reminder that there are no limits, no boundaries for the strength and resilience of the feminine spirit. A spirit, a superpower that lives within us all. Pussy is Power.” The band also just announced a hometown New Year’s Eve show at The Showbox in Seattle to celebrate – tickets available here.

The EP follows the release of Thunderpussy’s self-titled debut album last year via Stardog Records/Republic Records, on which Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready lent guitar and production, calling them his “favorite new band.” The record snatched up over 4 million cumulative streams. In between electrifying gigs coast-to-coast, they garnered widespread acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, Billboard, NPR and Paste while simultaneously a heated trademark battle over their name incited national headlines – they continue to fight for the “power of the word ‘pussy’ and finally not classifying it as vulgar or weak,” as guitarist Whitney Petty says. In 2019, they inch closer to accomplishing this shared, crucial mission and are currently working on their second album.
