After a nine-year absence, Swedish melodic death metal giants Scar Symmetry are back in full force. The band has released their new single “Scorched Quadrant” and announced the release of their seventh studio album, “The Singularity (Phase II Xenotaph)”, due out Friday, June 9th, 2023. This album marks the first full-length release for the iconic group since 2014’s “The Singularity (Phase I – Neohumanity)“.

The new single “Scorched Quadrant” is classic Scar Symmetry, combining melodic death metal with strong progressive elements, intense riffs, and powerful vocals from both Roberth Karlsson and Lars Palmqvist. Fans of the group will not be disappointed by what they hear on this track or any other song off the upcoming album.

In our new album, we once again explore these themes of neohumanity, artificial intelligence and the technological singularity from a dystopian point of view.“
