Mushroomhead bassist Ryan Farrell spent the early days of the pandemic getting his Master of Music in composition from Cleveland State University.
In the video below, Farrell said, “I’m a huge advocate for education – I mean, obviously, since I’m going back to school, too.” You don’t have to be just some dude with a guitar in a band to listen to Slayer and Mozart. It’s all music, but you don’t have to be a guitar player. It’s okay to listen to Slayer and Mozart. Regardless of your interests, taking it to the next level is essential.
“It is important for me to advocate for education right now, and I hope to be a role model for people who think, “Oh man, it’s never too late.” I could get a degree in something I’ve always wanted to, or I’m doing that one thing. You can do both of them. No matter what you do in life, do it to the fullest, with passion and without limits.”
Here’s a video recap of Farrell’s time at school and what it means to him.
MUSHROOMHEAD is a band that has been making waves in the music scene for over 25 years. From humble beginnings in Cleveland, Ohio, they’ve come a long way and have built a dedicated and passionate fan base all over the world.
Their music is a blend of heavy metal, industrial, and alternative, and we’re known for their high-energy live performances and intricate masks. We’ve released eight studio albums, each one showcasing our unique sound and evolving style.
But it’s not just about the music for them. MUSHROOMHEAD is a family, and we’re all in this together. We’re proud to have a diverse lineup, with members hailing from different backgrounds and experiences.
They’ve faced their fair share of challenges and setbacks over the years, but have always persevered and come out stronger on the other side. That’s the MUSHROOMHEAD spirit.
