Get Industrialized With Godflesh’s “Nero”!

Industrial metal pioneers Godflesh have unveiled their first new single, “Nero”, off their highly anticipated forthcoming album, ‘Purge’. The track is a searing blend of heavy metal riffs and industrial rhythms that will surely please fans of the iconic band. In addition to the single, Godflesh have also announced a North American tour in support of their forthcoming album.

Formed in 1988 by Justin K. Broadrick and Ben Green, Godflesh has long been one of the most influential bands in the industrial music genre. Their unique blend of metal and electronic elements has provided a blueprint for countless bands over the years. Now with their much-anticipated comeback album, Purge, it looks like they’re ready to reclaim their throne at the top of the genre once again.

According to Godflesh their new track “Nero” is explained as: “Nero, as a symbol and reminder of irresponsible self destruction as being practiced always, now and forever,” Broadrick exclaimed in a statement. “In classic Godflesh tradition, three self-reinterpretations are presented, to display the many sides of the same coin.”

Godflesh also recently announced the release of their new album’ ‘Purge’, their first since 2017’s ‘Post Self’, is due to be unleashed for the whole world to hear on Friday, June 9th via Avalanche. The album sees the band return to their signature sound of heavy distortion and electronic beats, mixed together in a powerful blend of industrial metal.

Godflesh is widely considered to be one of the originators of industrial metal, having released their first album ‘Streetcleaner’ in 1989′ And quickly gaining acclaim for their unique blend of punk, metal and electronics. Frontman Justin Broadrick has continued to expand on the genre throughout his career, with Godflesh having collaborated with several other artists over the years. With Purge, he has returned back to his roots and created an album that is sure to please longtime fans while also appealing to newer listeners who are interested in experiencing an original industrial metal act.
