IHOP, the artist formerly known as IHOB, announced its Halloween menu this week and it may be the chain’s most over-the-top menu yet, thanks to some inspiration from the creepiest family of all—the Addams Family.
The special menu is not only in honor of Halloween but also in honor of The Addams Family animated movie which premiers October 11. If you’re a fan of the family or even just of pancakes, you’re going to want to take a look.
First up from the menu is Wednesday’s Web-Cakes, which are some of the chain’s classic pancakes with a spooky twist: They’re covered with cupcake icing, webbed with Hershey’s chocolate syrup and topped with violet whipped topping.
Next up is Gomez’s Green Chili Omelette, made with marinated pulled pork, jack and cheddar cheeses, fire-roasted peppers and onions, and green chile Verde sauce. It’s all topped with sour cream.
You can enjoy either of these items with a spooky beverage like Uncle Fester’s Chocolate Ice Scream Shake, AKA a chocolate ice cream shake with violet whipped topping, or Morticia’s Haunted Hot Chocolate, which is toasted marshmallow hot chocolate topped with violet whipped topping and chocolate syrup. I’m sensing a theme here. (The theme is “purple.”)
The whole menu is available now and will be sticking around all season long until November 3, so there is plenty of time to dig into all of these spooky treats.
This animated version of The Addams Family is definitely of a different take but I think will still be worth taking the kiddos to go see and you just may enjoy it yourself.
In the new full-length trailer for The Addams Family animated movie, Morticia (voiced by Charlize Theron), Gomez (Oscar Isaac), and their creepy and kooky unit face their greatest nightmare: domestic bliss.
The Addamses find themselves in New Jersey in the film from Sausage Party directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. It’s a learning curve for everyone. The town, fueled into a frenzy by reality TV host Margaux Needler (Allison Janney), are convinced these “monsters” will ruin the neighborhood. Meanwhile, Wednesday (Chloe Grace Moretz) is adjusting perfectly well to school life with her Frankenstein approach to science class.
The household — which includes Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Big Mouth‘s Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler as Grandma, and Vernon as Lurch — is also preparing for a big family function. Enter Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt.
Other characters are voiced by Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Tituss Burgess, Jenifer Lewis, Elsie Fisher, and Aimee Garcia.
