Two nights of Metallica and a headlining set by Nine Inch Nails lead this year’s Welcome to Rockville festival, heading to Daytona Beach , Florida, from November 11th to November 14th.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rob Zombie, Social Distortion, Deftones, Disturbed, Staind, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Anthrax, the Offspring, and Stone Temple Pilots also will perform during the four-day festival at the Daytona International Speedway.
In 2019, Metallica announced they’d perform two-night stands at five U.S. music festivals, Welcome to Rockville among them. However, those gigs were canceled thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. So Metallica is now making good thereon promise with Welcome to Rockville headlining performance on November 12th and 14th; both shows promise to possess “unique” sets. (Metallica also will play two shows at Louisville, Kentucky’s Louder Than Life fest.)
Nine Inch Nails — who recently announced headlining gigs at both Louder Than Life and Chicago’s Riot Fest additionally to their Cleveland concerts. They will perform at Rockville’s opening on November 11th, with Disturbed set to headline November 13th.
Post Malone, Tyler the Creator, Miley Cyrus, and the Foo Fighters are going to be among the headliners when Lollapalooza returns to Grant Park for its 30th anniversary July 29-August 1. The festival returns at full capacity after a year away because of the still-ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Attendees at this year’s festival must be fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test obtained within 24 hours of each festival day. Additional headliners for the festival include Dababy, Marshmello, Illenium, Journey, Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch.
Bigger than ever, rap-pop-rock hybrid artist Post Malone returns to the festival. Other returning acts include Tyler the Creator, Marshmello and Dababy. Roddy Ricch, who had a serious 2020 despite the pandemic (thanks in no small part to TikTok) may be a notable performer set to please the crowds who passed over on seeing him live last year. Three-time Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion makes her Lolla debut this year after exploding into the mainstream with hits like “Savage” and “WAP.” Her appearance is much-welcomed after a scarcity of female headliners in years past.
Ten years after they played a now-classic rainy set at the festival, perennial rockers The Foo Fighters return to the Lolla stage. Much beloved, their unsurprising appearance is another reminder of the middling state of mainstream rock ’n’ roll. Whereas the festival’s pop, hip hop, and electronic headliners still represent a crop of performers hand-picked off the highest of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, the rock acts often fall under the throwback vein. Classic rock group Journey, while an ideal pick for a city like Chicago, first peaked within the ’80s and gained a wave of nostalgia within the aughts thanks to television shows like “The Sopranos” and “Glee.” Their inclusion is a smaller amount an indictment of the festival itself than how rock ‘n’ roll operates among Gen-Z and millennial listeners. According to Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s office, additional details on the festival and its entry process are going to be released in early July. The festival announced quite 165 bands and artists Wednesday. Four-day passes begin at $350 and go on sale at Lollapalooza.com at noon Wednesday, while one-day tickets haven’t yet been announced or on sale. Typically, Lollapalooza waits until four-day passes are sold out to announce the day-by-day lineup and put single-day tickets on sale.
New this year is GA+ which begins at $650 and offers more comforts than standard general admission, like shade and seating in two private groves near Buckingham Fountain. In 2019, a general admission four-day pass went for $340.
Other notable acts for this year’s festival include Kaytranada, Jack Harlow, Kim Petras and Orville Peck. Fresh off his two Grammy wins, Canadian Kaytranada is sure to please audiences and get a much-needed dance party started at the home of house music. Rising indie pop star Petras, who is known for her unique and visually thrilling live sets, should make for an exciting appearance. Those looking for a throwback may be interested in checking out Limp Bizkit. The choice may seem odd, but most things Y2K have become popular again among the Gen-Z set. Why not exasperating rap-rock?
The festival continues to increase its number of Chicago-area artists and 2021 is no exception, with the likes of Whitney and Mick Jenkins among the performers. Chicago rapper Polo G makes a return to the festival two years after his first solo set. His return is sure to be something of a homecoming for the certified star whose second album, “The Goat,” made a splash in 2020 and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Earlier this year, his single “Rapstar” debuted at No. 1, cementing the 22-year-old’s longevity.
Lollapalooza organizers are thrilled to announce that the world-class festival will return. Coming back to Grant Park at full capacity July 29-August 1, 2021. The lineup will be revealed tomorrow, Wednesday, May 19, at 10am CT. Along with tickets going on sale at 12pm CT at www.lollapalooza.com.
In accordance with current local public health guidance, full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results will be required to attend Lollapalooza 2021. For patrons who are not fully vaccinated listen up. A negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 24 hours of attending Lollapalooza each day. Details on the festival entry process will be available in early July. Lollapalooza is excited to partner with the City of Chicago. In doing so, is to encourage vaccinations in Chicago in the weeks prior to the festival. If you have questions about COVID-19 vaccines or to find a vaccination location near you, please visit www.vaccinefinder.org.
Lollapalooza And Covid-19, How will it work
“Here in Chicago, the word ‘Lollapalooza’ has always been synonymous with summer, great music and four days of unforgettable fun – which made last year’s decision to postpone it all the more difficult,” said Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot. “Now, less than a year later and armed with a vaccine that is safe, effective and widely available, we are able to bring back one of our city’s most iconic summer music festivals. I want to thank the Lollapalooza team for working closely with the City to create a reopening strategy that prioritizes safety and can’t wait to see festivalgoers return to Grant Park this summer.”
“We’ve made tremendous progress in containing the spread of COVID-19, with all of our leading metrics stable or on the decline. This is a reason to celebrate and why we’re able to make this announcement today,” said CDPH Commissioner Allison Arwady, M.D.
“To ensure we celebrate safely this summer I encourage everyone to continue to be safe and smart; if you’re sick, stay home; wash your hands frequently; wear a mask if you’re traveling or using public transit, and most importantly get vaccinated if you haven’t already.”

Rock Fest 2021 Will Headline WIth Heavy Hitters Korn, Rob Zombie, Danzig & More
Organizers of two major US rock festivals are relying on a relative return to normal this summer. Officially announcing the lineups for Wisconsin’s Rock Fest and Michigan’s Upheaval Festival today (March 31st). Rob Zombie, Korn, Staind, and Chevelle are among the bands set to play both fests. While the larger Rock Fest also will feature Limp Bizkit, Snoop Dogg, Danzig, and more — as long as the events are ready to go off as scheduled.
Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin may be a long-running annual event, while Upheaval in Grand Rapids, Michigan was alleged to stage its inaugural festival last year. Both were called off in 2020 thanks to the pandemic. Therefore the 2021 lineups are fairly almost like those that were set for last year. The large difference is that Disturbed has dropped off both events. Also, Slipknot will not get on the Rock Fest bill. In their place, Rob Zombie and Korn have stepped into the headlining slots for both festivals. While Danzig has been added to Rock Fest.
Taking place July 15th-17th (Thursday through Saturday). Rock Fest is additionally slated to feature Anthrax, Steel Panther, Of Mice & Men, Avatar, Motionless in White, and lots more bands. A special Wednesday night (July 14th) pre-fest bill will feature Queensrÿche, Slaughter, and more.
Upheaval Festival is about for July 16th-17th. With bands like Joyous Wolf, Gemini Syndrome, Skillet. More will be joining aforementioned acts Rob Zombie, Korn, Staind, and Chevelle on the two-day lineup.
